'K' CLASS NO.337
No.337 is the only locomotive that was previously found in Grittenham Light Railway that was not 10 ¼ inch in size, but 9 ½ inches.
The loco was the first and only surviving ‘K’ class LBSCR locomotive, designed by L B Billington in 1913. Owned by Richard Davies in 2018, it is now being restored in Wales.
The locomotive is powered by a diesel “power pack” that drives one of its bogies through a fully hydraulic system (distinct from hydrostatic systems). To ensure effective stopping, it uses hydraulic disc brakes.
